Katie was my first friend when I moved to Virginia back in 1989, yup, 22+ years ago!  She is an amazing lady, full of personality and super sweet.  I loved the originality in the session she asked me to photograph for her and even though I was a little unsure how it would go, I am very pleased with the images.  From what I hear, her husband is too! So looking forward to working with this couple later in 2012!

I love to watch families grow!  Sweet baby Jayde was welcomed into this world right before Christmas and I had the pleasure of photographing her when she was 13 days old.  Pure newborn goodness!

Isaiah 6:8 (KJV) “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”

This photo shoot came together in days and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.  Kate is in her early 20′s, a graduate of the University of Virginia, a lover of photography + music and is a missionary.  Her story touched me so much that I contacted her and offered a photo session to document her before she left for Uganda in a week.  We made the shoot unique by incorporating jewelry, handmade items and personal photos from her stay in Jinja.

Kate’s Uganda story began almost a year ago, when she says “God made it clear I was to go” after wanting to care for orphans in Africa for the past 6 years. Kate says “Once I got there, I knew it was what God was telling me to do with my life.”  She has been on two mission trips and lived there for 4 months, helping in orphanages and working with children living on the street.  She recently accepted a job at a Christian adoption agency and will continue her work with the orphanges as well as traveling with the families who come to Uganda to adopt.  She is an amazing young lady who has allowed God to really work through her.

 These charming Valentine’s Day cards feature fun lettering and your favorite picture on a chalkboard background.  A perfect personalized design to send to friends and family. Other fun ideas:

• Use Japanese masking tape to stick a sucker or other sweet treat to the back of the 5×7 card or wallet print.

It’s time to majorly catch up on this blog after the crazy Fall/Holiday season and share all the great sessions I did in November & December!  I was so busy with shooting, editing, and making sure all my clients got their images back in time for the Holidays that I decided to put blog sneak peeks on the back burner until I had some down time.  I am welcoming the slower season with open arms and am excited to focus on my skill, branding & more importantly, family during these colder months.  Hope everyone had a Holiday season filled with family, friends, happiness, peace & love . . . enjoy the first session share of many within the next week!
